Teaching Math to Everyone Series
The Teaching Math to Everyone Series is designed to help teachers develop strategies that will significantly improve their ability to teach math to all of their students. Math doesn't need to be painful. The content learned in this series will afford you the skills necessary to engage every learner by utilizing their strengths. Even the most anxious students will be excited about your new approach to teaching math. The series consists of four courses:
EDU 534SA - Math for Everyone
EDU 534SB - Teaching Math Cooperatively
EDU 534SC - Reducing Math Anxiety
EDU 534SD - Using Writing to Teach Math
Although EDU 534SA, Math for Everyone, is NOT a prerequisite for the other three courses, it does provide a foundation for them. Math for Everyone, Teaching Math Cooperatively, and Reducing Math Anxiety all require one book entitled Math for Humans: Teaching Math Through 8 Intelligences by Mark Wahl. The fourth class, Using Writing to Teach Math, requires a separate book entitled Writing in Math Class: A Resource for Grades 2-8 by Marilyn Burns. These books must be purchased separately and are available at Amazon.com.
